According to a report by Friends of the Earth (FoE), lithium extraction inevitably harms the soil and causes air contamination. As demand rises, the mining impacts are “increasingly affecting communities where this harmful extraction takes place, jeopardising their access to water,” says the report. Most monoclonal antibody therapies that neutralized early variants of the SARS-CoV-2 virus are less effective or not effective against the BA.2.12.1, BA.4, and BA.5 Omicron subvariants that currently make up almost 99% of infections in the United States, according to a report in Nature. Evolving Omicron Subvariants Are More Resistant to Antibody Therapy — https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/fullarticle/2795047 […]
The government is planning on rolling out updated Omicron-targeting booster shots this fall, specifically with a component of the BA.5 subvariant, which now accounts for 85% of U.S. infections. Even if some other Omicron sublineage becomes dominant by then, the shots could be a better match against what’s circulating than the original formulation — and […]
Beyond just online platforms, the new survey finds that the vast majority of teens have access to digital devices, such as smartphones (95%), desktop or laptop computers (90%) and gaming consoles (80%). And the study shows there has been an uptick in daily teen internet users, from 92% in 2014-15 to 97% today. In addition, […]
The discomfort of loneliness eases with time. You come to accept solitude like a cracked tile in a corner of the bathroom floor. Eventually, you just stop noticing the defect. I went vegan this year.
A lot of our meals are vegetarian but not vegan. I have just a few vegan recipes I enjoy. Overall I am still an omnivore.
I’m definitely in omnivore too. But the place I get my Thanksgiving meal every year has a vegan option that I like much better than turkey. It is some sort of walnut loaf that is absolutely delicious.
I enjoy a good veggie loaf every now and then too. But I have way too many traditionalists in my extended family to serve a walnut loaf on Thanksgiving.
It’s just me, Eli the golden retriever, and Lily the calico cat. They are carnivores, so they are getting white meat turkey. New profile picture?
Yes. The photo was taken a few weeks ago in Lake Conroe TX at our niece’s wedding. The Boss and I are rarely dressed up so this picture is a keeper. Our niece and her husband are stopping over for T-Day and will continue their trek on Friday to have T-Day with his family at the grandparent’s place in Wichita KS. Our brother-in-law (not the father of this niece) is also up from TX. So we’ll have five adults and one Aussie today. The dog bowls are already out and I have TREATS.
